Treating over a billion gallons of highly contaminated and varied wastewater sources has enabled us to identify and develop technologies that go beyond looking good in the lab to working effectively and economically at a large, sustainable scale.
Instead of a one-size-fits-all approach, ORION uses several proven technologies that are integrated into mobile and fixed facility treatment units and controlled by a proprietary operating system to provide flexibility and responsiveness to continuously changing water conditions. ORION Water Solution's proprietary automation and telemetry processes makes our systems safer and more effective under challenging conditions in the field, meaning that we can deliver better results for our customers.
OXIDATION
Oxidation is used to help precipitate metals and salts, and also acts as a biocide for effective bacteria control. ORION selects an appropriate mix of oxidizing agents depending on the application requirements. Typical oxidizing agents include chlorine dioxide, paracetic acid (PAA), hydrogen peroxide, and sodium hypochlorite (bleach). Oxidizing biocides can be more effective, safer to handle, and lower in cost than many non-oxidizing biocides commonly used today.
CLARIFICATION
Orion uses dissolved air floatation (DAF) technology to remove fat/oil/grease, iron, and suspended solids from contaminated water. No other technology provides the consistent quality of a DAF for the same low cost.

DISSOLVED ORGANICS REMOVAL
Dissolved organic compounds such as ethanol, methanol, toluene and naphthalene and other water soluble organics can be effectively stripped from wastewater streams through the use of ORION Granular Activated Carbon (GAC) units. Sized to the wastewater content and volume, ORION's modular systems can be rapidly mobilized to strip out dissolve organics down to the sub parts per billion range (pub).

DEWATERING
When wastewater cannot be efficiently turned into re-usable water, ORION's filter press and centrifuge systems can reduce liquid volumes and cut disposal costs. Dewatering systems can be used in a stand-alone fashion but are commonly used in combination with other treatment steps when solid waste is preferable to liquid waste.
